What not to do when working with influencers
- We've been talking a lot about the dos of influencer marketing, so let's take a minute and now talk about some of the dont's. First things first, if you want to get on the influencer's radar, then you have to be present on their channels. Be engaged with their audience and be supportive of the content they publish. The worst thing you can do is conduct outreach to influencers that have zero connection or awareness of your brand. Don't be a stranger. Actively engage and make your presence known before submitting an inquiry to collaborate. As hard as this next tip is, it's very important to not be a total control freak. Think of working with influencers as a collaboration where both parties work together to brainstorm the overall creative. For certain elements of the campaign it's okay to have a little bit more control, like over the brand messaging. But at the end for the day, the influencer will always have a better understanding of what will resonate best with their audience…
