Using humor for more engaging training

- When I was a little kid, I wanted to grow up to become an international soccer superstar. But I clearly never worked out, so that dream didn't either. Then I wanted to grow up to become an international hip hop superstar. But my rap game was lame, so I never found fame, which is kind of a shame. You'll notice that international training superstar was never on the list of childhood dreams. No, this training is a bit of an accident. Even though I was hired to manage projects and write code at PNG, I was increasingly put in front of an audience and asked to train them on a new software program or speak about an initiative we were rolling out. But I never imagined myself speaking or training. I'm sure the same is true for many of you. And I soon learned that one of the most effective tools a trainer has in their tool belt is humor. In this course, I'm going to show you how to reverse engineer the skill of humor so you can increase the engagement and retention of your programs. By the end, you'll have a step-by-step guide on how you can add humor to your programs starting today. It doesn't matter if you're naturally funny or more like me and need to be more intentional about how you add fun. To humor is to human. You've got this. Oh, and this is a course on humor, so we're going to have some fun as well. I'm warning you now, there will be puns. So let's get started.
