- [Instructor] User experience is a metric that the search engines use to determine how user-friendly your website is. Interstitial content can impact user experience. So for example, pop-up banners and standalone interstitial content can actually impede users from accessing the content that they came to your website to see. This can, in some cases, harm your SEO. This is not the case however, for interstitial content that explains cookie usage or gives any other important information that website visitors may need to know. Now, it's important to note that though interstitial content can impact your SEO, it is only one of many signals. Just by using, for example, pop-ups on your website does not automatically mean that you won't rank highly in Google.
