- [Instructor] It doesn't matter if you're a student who just submitted a paper or an agency leader who sent in a big proposal, it's always frustrating waiting for a response. The same is true for contributors to your blog, when they submit a post don't leave them hanging let them know you got it and what happens next by developing a workflow and approvals process. I like to break it down into six steps. Step one, acknowledge. Step two, edit. Step three, revise. Step four, final prep. Step five, publish and promote. And step six, thank. The first step is fairly simple, as soon as you get a submission send the person a note of thanks confirming you received it and outlining next steps. For instance, tell them if the editor is making changes directly or simply offering suggestions and how long they'll have to complete the re-writes, and give them an idea of when the post will be published.
