- [Instructor] Have you ever wondered why you see the ads you see? Well there's a lot that goes into it. But for Google, it comes down to your personalization settings. So let me show you how you can see and edit how Google sees you. In your Google Account, choose the link called Ad Settings. In the next screen, click Manage my Ad Settings. Now, you'll see a long list of interests. This list is developed from information you gave Google directly. It also includes data from Google's advertising partners and data based on your browsing, searches, and YouTube activity. If you click on your gender or age, it will show you how the information was acquired. In this case, I provided my age directly to Google when I created my Google Account. I can also click on any of the interest categories. For example, if I click on Cooking and Recipes, this interest was added to my profile based on my activity. If I click on TechSmith, I can see that this interest category is based on information…
