- One of the main reasons people don't go live is because they're afraid of messing up and embarrassing themselves in front of the camera. If it makes you feel any better, though, people are much more forgiving when they watch a live video versus a prerecorded one. Live videos also humanize your brand because people can't always relate to a perfectly polished video. With that being said, there are definitely things that you can do to alleviate the stress of going live and to be more comfortable getting in front of the camera. The first thing I always do to prepare for a live video is to create an outline of my talking points. To keep things simple, I usually stick with two to three main talking points. This keeps me organized and on track when I'm on camera since I know what I'm going to be saying and what I'll be saying.
