- How do you know if your lead gen program is successful? By defining key performance indicators, commonly referred to as KPIs. KPIs tell you how your lead gen program performs in market and if you attain your objectives. You can find lots of KPI examples by searching online, but don't feel overwhelmed. Stay focused and only consider KPIs that are specific and relevant to your lead gen objectives. Here are a few thought-starters. Cost per lead, how much do you need to invest to attain each new lead? Number of qualified leads, meaning a prospect that has been researched and vetted by the marketing and sales teams. Website traffic to lead ratio, of all website visitors, how many provide their contact information? Social media engagement, who follows, shares, or likes your content? Or who's clicked from your page to your website for more information?
