(upbeat music) - When my dad and older generations want to show emotion in writing, there was only one way they could do it, and it was the one you never, ever wanted: the dreaded all caps. This meant they were mad and that they were shouting at you through words. - And all caps has definitely been used in marketing. Think about it, you're walking down the street, and something says, "On sale," to get your attention, or maybe they have an exclamation mark, and it's worked. But guess what, marketers? Now comes gen Z, and we have a whole new way of being able to communicate emotions. - Why waste time with all caps when I can tell you that I'm mad, surprised, sick, sleepy? My generation, gen Z, oftentimes thinks in symbols before we think in words. - So for marketers, this really opens up the door for a whole new way to communicate.
