- In the early 2000s, I took on the greatest challenge of my own career. I became the principal of a failing school, a failing organization. Now amongst many of the different and diverse challenges we faced was a very personal one for me, because the team I inherited was filled with really lovely people. They were great. They were nice to each other. They were lovely to the children. They were great with the community. Everybody loved them. The problem was they were so settled that they didn't want to face the problems we actually had to deal with.
