- Marketers know the value of brand ambassadors. These champions are loyal fans who want to be involved in the building of your brand. You can count on them to amplify your messages, recommend your products, share you content without ever being asked. Hi, I'm Deidre Breakenridge, a marketing expert and author of six books on PR and branding. And here are steps you can take to build even better relationships with your brand champions. Number one, get them involved in your marketing activities.
Of course, your champions know what they like to do and how they want to be involved. So it's your job to listen, to find out the best ways to engage them in your programs. Number two, always deliver valuable information through your marketing efforts. If you offer meaningful communication that taps into your brand ambassador's pain points and helps them to solve problems, they'll continue to be your cheerleaders and shout even louder. Number three, let them know you value their opinions by asking for their feedback.
You can keep your brand ambassadors on board by finding out what's on their minds. Let them tell you what they think is the best type of information to share. Number four, think about how your brand ambassadors interact with you. Make each experience better than the last. It's all about the experience. If it doesn't meet their expectations, then you can't expect your brand ambassadors to stick around. Number five, make it simple for your champions to support you. Give them information that's easy to digest, process, and then share with their communities.
Photos, infographics, and even videos can be shared by busy fans who are on the go. Your brand champions are out there. They want to be involved. Now it's up to you to take the steps to involve them and excite them even more.
