- [Instructor] The selection of the category in YouTube is often overlooked due to its limited scope, but it can have big implications in extending the visibility of your content. You'll find categories in the advanced tab. Because of the limited categories, many of your videos could easily fall under multiple categories. Teaching my dog to play Frisbee could easily fall under pets, sports, entertainment, or even how to. How should you approach categories? Think about the person browsing the section and what they are looking for. YouTube is focused on providing content related to what the viewer is actively watching. Look at what content is doing well in each category and see if your content is a good fit. Also, do you see any other patterns in other channels?
