Card sorting
- Card sorting is a common method by which you'll ask your participants to help you design or evaluate information. This is typically done when managing the navigation or taxonomy of a website or in the categorization of blog topics. In a card sorting session, participants organize topics into categories that make sense to them. And you can use that to also help you label these groups. For example, you may run a travel site and have sections called plan your travel or book your travel, but you run a card sorting session and determine your audience aligns more closely with the terms book now and planning resources. To conduct a card sort you can use actual cards, pieces of paper, or one of several online card sorting software tools. Card sorting will help you understand your topics.
