- (Anson) If you visit Instagram.com on a computer, you can log into your account and find embed codes for individual photos that you've uploaded to Instagram. This will allow you to embed these photos on your blog or website. To display your entire Instagram feed however, you'll need to use a third party tool. The tool that I like to use is called Lightwidget, and can be found at Lightwidget.com. Once you log in with your Instagram account and grant Lightwidget access, the tool will automatically show you a preview of the widget with photos that you've already uploaded to Instagram.
As you scroll down, you have a number of different options that you can customize. You could filter your photos by hashtags, and then the widget would only display those photos that have the hashtag that you specify. You could change the number of columns, the number of rows, and you could also add an image hover effect, which will change how the images appear when you mouse over them. You can specify that you want to show captions in your widget, and then when you're ready, you can click on the preview button to see what the updated widget will look like.
We have our captions, and when we mouse over, there's a zoom. So once we're happy with how our widget looks, we can go back to the bottom and click on the get code button. On the page that appears, we can copy this code to our clipboard, then move on over to our website and paste this code in the back end where we want the widget to appear. If you use a web developer for your website, you may need to get them involved for this step. This is definitely a great way to increase the visibility of your Instagram account, by featuring all of your Instagram photos right on your website.
