Tags allow you to add additional information to your files, which will make them even easier to find in a search later. We'll use color tags and we'll create new text tags and apply them to several files. Then, we'll see how to find your files later by searching for those tags.
- [Instructor] In this movie, I want to talk about tags,…which I consider to be a next-level search tool.…If you want to be proactive about keeping files…organized so that you can more easily…search for them later, you should probably…take a look at tags.…Tags are particularly useful if you need to…organize several files together for a project,…but putting them all in the same folder…is just not an option.…Let me start by setting up a scenario.…If I go into Finder, and I go into Documents,…I have this subfolder called No Obstacles,…where of course I have a bunch of files…relating to a client project known as No Obstacles.…
But if I go into my Pictures folder…and I start going through some of the pictures…I have in these subfolders,…I might find a bunch of pictures…that I want to use in the No Obstacles project,…but I don't want to move them over to that folder,…I want them to stay here in my Pictures folder.…So what I can do to organize them all together…is to use tags.…I'm gonna start with color tags.…So just as an example, I'm gonna select…
