Sometimes you need to send a file to somebody, to do that, you might send it as an email attachment or use some file sharing service on the Internet, or you might copy it to USB memory stick. But sometimes you just want to quickly hand over the file and you don't want to go through the trouble of setting up any of those other things—that's when you use AirDrop. In this movie, we'll see how AirDrop works to quickly share files.
- [Instructor] Sometimes you need…to send a file to somebody,…and to do that you might send it…as an e-mail attachment,…or use some file-sharing service on the internet,…or you might copy it to a USB memory stick,…or an external hard drive.…But sometimes you're sitting right next to somebody,…and you just wanna quickly hand over the file,…and you don't want to go through the trouble…of setting up any of those other things.…That's when you might use AirDrop.…You don't need passwords,…you don't need to configure anything else…in system preferences,…and it's really quick.…And you can also send files to an iPhone or an iPad.…But if you do wanna send a file to an iPhone or iPad…from your computer through AirDrop,…you need to have Bluetooth turned on…on both the computer and the iOS device.…
So I'm gonna start here on my MacBook Pro,…and I already have a folder open to some files…that I might want to send send over…to my other computer.…So I'm just gonna move this window over,…and I'm gonna create a New Finder Window.…
