Before you can use the Mail application, you need to link your email accounts to your computer in macOS. Some email accounts can also be used to synchronize data from the Calendar and Contacts applications as well, allowing you to keep the same information in these apps on all of your computers and other devices. In this movie, we'll see how to link email accounts to your computer.
- [Teacher] In this chapter, we'll be working with email,…the address book and the calendar.…To do that, we should start…by getting certain online accounts set up.…To get the most out of Mail, Contacts and Calendar,…and really to use the Mail application at all,…you're going to need an email account.…This movie is not about creating an account.…I'm going to assume that you already…have an email account.…Maybe an account assigned to you by your employer…or maybe a Gmail, Yahoo or even iCloud account.…So we're not gonna talk about setting up a new account.…
Instead, in this movie, we're going to cover…how you can connect an existing account…with Mac OS so that you can use the Mail application…to send and receive emails from that account,…or to synchronize calendars and contacts to that account.…So the first thing I wanna do…is launch the Mail application.…I have it here in the dock,…so I'll click on that,…and this is what it looks like…if you launch the Mail application,…and you do not have it linked to an email account.…
