QuickTime is the application for playing individual audio and video files. But, it's also the engine that makes it possible for iTunes and other applications to play audio and video media. In this video, walk through how to use the QuickTime application to play a video and do some light editing.
- [Instructor] QuickTime is something that is integrated…into Mac OS that makes it possible…for lots of applications to play audio and video content,…but it's also a standalone application…that you can use to play video and audio files.…And that's what I wanna look at in this movie.…The typical way most people work with QuickTime…is to go to the storage drive,…so I'm gonna go into Finder, to my movies folder,…and you can find a video file that you want to open up.…Now the files we see here are not included…in the exercise files for this course,…but you can see how this works.…
If you find a video or an audio file…that is compatible with QuickTime,…you can double-click on it,…and it will open that file in QuickTime.…And you can play that video from here.…Now that's just one way you can work with QuickTime.…I'm going to quit this so we can see another method.…You could just launch the QuickTime application itself.…You could go to your applications folder or to Launchpad.…If you go to Launchpad, you need to go to this other folder,…
