- Modifier keys are pretty valuable…especially if you're going to be using keyboard shortcuts.…Some modifier keys, you might be able to do without.…The Function key for example.…But then there's the Shift key…which I expect you'll use constantly.…So what are modifier keys?…Well, these are just keys that you would hold down…on your keyboard to unlock some other functionality.…And like I said, they're particularly useful…for keyboard shortcuts.…So let's start by identifying the modifier keys.…Most of the modifier keys are on both sides…of your keyboard.…
So we'll start with the Shift key.…That's the key that you would hold down…to write capital letters when you're typing.…Then down at the bottom, you have Control,…Option, and Command.…These are very useful for lots of keyboard shortcuts.…The Function key is not used very often,…which is good, because it's in a different place…on a wired keyboard compared to a wireless keyboard.…So if you do need to use the Function key,…make sure you look at your keyboard…and find where the Function key is.…
