We're now going to view a balance sheet report for Carol's Cleaning. It will show the assets, liability, and equity accounts for the month of January 2013. As well as we'll start to customize the filters. From the Command Center click onto the Reports icon from the Action panel. Click onto the Accounts tab and look for the subheading Balance Sheet. We wish to view the standard balance sheet. Click onto the display button. Because we have our preference turned on to show the report customization before displaying the report, that's why this screen popped up.
In the report level, over on the right, we'd like to change this to number one. We also want to ensure that the financial year is ending in 2013, which it is, and now selected period is January, and the as of date is the 31st of January 2013 because we nominated January in the selected period. Let's now display this to screen. It's a very simple balance sheet, showing the assets, liabilities, and equity.
Now use your mouse to go back down to the Customization window. And change the Report level from one to Level four. And display that to screen. You now see that the chart of accounts is displayed with a level one, level two, level three, and level four of the accounts. The other great feature in Customize is to go to the finishing tab, the third tab in the screen, and include the account numbers. Let's click display.
You'll now see the account numbers turned on. An MYB is commonly spoken using account numbers versus the names. As you'll scroll down the report, you'll see all your acid accounts and liability accounts along with the equity appearing at the bottom. If we customize again, one other feature on the finishing tab for this particular report, is to include all the accounts with zero balances. So potentially our report is going to be much longer. Lets display to screen.
So now we see lots of accounts with zero balances. It's not commonly reported this way, but it is a feature that's available. The other area to show you is up in the top right hand corner. We are currently viewing this report in Screen Report View. Let's change it to Print Preview. This is what it would look like if you print the report. The company name, address, the report title and the date or time frame of the report. Let's go up to the drop down box and change it back to screen report.
It means it displays more data on the screen, instead of all the formatting of the company name. Let's now click close and return to the command center.
