- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to talk about the preview progressive engine in MODO. Initially, this started life as an interactive preview renderer to help you with tasks such as lighting, shading, and texturing. But it's actually built on exactly the same architecture as the production render engine. And so over time, the functionality to do final renders with the preview render engine was gradually added to MODO and because the preview render engine is much simpler and easier to use than the production renderer, it can provide some significant advantages in terms of work flow. And the main advantage it provides is there's hardly any settings that you need to worry about before you fire off a render. And that's because it will just keep firing rays and keep sampling the longer you keep it running.
