Overview of the rigging process

- [Instructor] In this series of videos, we're going to be looking at basic rigging in Modo. Rigging is the process of organizing and adding controls to meshes so they can be manipulated more easily or animated. So, for example, on this telescope, we have a number of control locators, which are these circles here, which allow us to manipulate the mesh in a useful way. For example, I can simply click on this control locator here and that will automatically bring up a rotation control, and I can rotate the telescope around this pivot point. Let me hit Q to drop that tool, and then if I click on the yellow control locator beneath it, this is going to bring up a rotation control that's going to allow me to rotate the telescope on the Y-axis. And then clicking on this big blue locator at the bottom is going to allow me to move the entire assembly all in one go. So in the next few videos, I'm going to show you how to build a simple rig such as this one.
