Creating the wood texture

- In this video, I'm going to create the wood material on this side panel. So, the first step will be to click on the side panel in preview to select its material in the shader tree. Now, as it happens, MODO has a really good wood procedural texture, which I'm going to add into the material now. So, I'll click on add layer, textures, and I'll select wood from the list. And I can see that the wood has now been applied to the side panel here in preview. However, I'm not happy with either the size or the direction of the grain. So, with the wood texture selected in the shader tree, I'm going to switch to the texture locator tab. I reduced the size of the grain to 10 millimeters. And if I hold control as I press enter, it'll change it in all three axes. I also want the grain to face the other way, because I don't think you would cut a panel with the end grain showing like this. So, in the Y rotation, I'm going to enter a value of 90.
