Creating a speaker 2: Modeling the holes

- [Instructor] So our next challenge is to create some holes in our basic speaker enclosure to accommodate the woofer and the tweeter. Now, creating holes in subdivision surfaces is one of the great challenges in 3D modeling so welcome to the deep end. And the reason that creating holes in subdivision surfaces is a bit of a challenge is that it requires all of the geometry surrounding the hole to be as even and symmetrical as possible so this requires a little bit of planning in advance. So the first thing we need to do is to divide our speaker into two separate sections, a smaller section at the top to accommodate the tweeter and a larger section at the bottom for the woofer and we're going to do this by using the loop slice tool. So I'm going to switch to polygon mode and I'm going to select two polygons going horizontally across the middle of the model and then I'm going to hit Alt + C to summon the loop slice tool. I'm going to open the tool properties and I'm going to make sure…
