Converting to subD and hardening edges
- With the tread now extruded, I'm going to do a little bit more shaping and I'm going to continue using the procedural tools in order to do this. The first step will be to convert MASH to Catmull-Clark. So I'm going to click on add operator'. And once again, in the polygon section, I'm going to find set polygon type, double click on that to add it to the top of my stack. And I'm going to change the polygon type from face to Catmull-Clark. And that subdivides the mesh really nicely but I'm going to want to sharpen some of the edges. So I'm going to add another operator to the top of my stack and this is the edge weight operator. So I'm just going to search for set edge weight and double click to add that to top of the stack. And I want to constrain this edge weight to only the edges that are already relatively sharp. So I'm going to expand the mesh up, expand the selection, click on add selection. And this time I'm going…
