- Setting the photo style in your camera is how you define the look that your footage is going to get. Now if you're shooting video, choosing a photo style is very important because some photo styles are quite dramatic and if you decide you don't like it later, you're going to have a hard time grading that out of it. So it's pretty important that you decide on a look that you want in advanced and dial that in or if you're going to shoot something very very neutral for grading later, that you make that decision as well. If you're shooting still photography, if you're shooting jpeg it's also very important. Just like when shooting video, there's some looks that are a little bit more forgiving if you want to color them later and some that are really kind of baked in. You probably aren't going to get much out of it if you're trying to change it. If shooting raw on the other hand in still photography, you don't really need to worry about the look at all.
