- One of the significant upgrades to the GH5 is the HDMI port. Unlike previous cameras, which had a tiny little HDMI connector on it, the GH5 features a full size HDMI port. This means you can plug in full size cable, which is a much stronger, much more solid connection. Ironically, the GH5 also comes with an HDMI lock. This is physical mechanism that attaches to the side of the camera to hold that cable in tight. Now, you need it even less than you ever did before because the connector is already so much more solid, but this is added security and added piece of mind to know that that cable is absolutely not coming out. So, let's take a look at how this connects to the camera. First of all, you'll see that this has two parts to it, there's the actual locking mechanism that screws into the camera and then a small clip that you can detach.
