- [Instructor] Duplicating a layer…can save you a whole lot of time.…I'm going to show you how that works right now.…Let's say that you've done this.…You've created a mask.…In this case we did a mask for her full body,…and let me show you what that looks like.…I'll go ahead, turn that on, go to Brush.…Let's turn on our mask.…What I wanted to do, I just wanted to give…the entire model a little bit of sharpening.…I created the mask, and I did that.…I like the way it turned out.…Then as I was looking at the image,…I was going, I'd like to a little something…to the background, too, without it affecting her.…
Now I could create another layer…and then paint the entire background if I wanted.…But why do that?…I have a better way to go,…and let me show you how that works.…I'm just going to go here.…I'm going to make sure that my layer is selected…that has this mask right here.…I'm going to go to the gear menu,…and I'm going to choose Duplicate Layer.…I'm going to call this layer background, so we'll come here,…and we'll rename the layer Background, just like that.…
