- Before we really dive into this project, I'd like to take an aside to evaluate the existing material. You know, this job began when Sherry sent in three things. One, a business card with her logo on it, two, her webpage with a different logo, and three, the sign on the outside of her shop. And right off the bat you can see two things. One is that all three things are different. They have different logos, different typography, different page structures. And the first rule of branding, or the first rule of logo design, is that everything must be uniform. Wherever people encounter your brand, you want them to encounter the same thing. UPS is a good example. A simple shield in open space, gold and brown colors, a single typeface, uniform everywhere you see it. You don't want one logo here, and a different logo there, and one typeface here, and another typeface there, and one page structure or general design here, and another one there.
