(upbeat music) - [Instructor] In the course demystifying audio synthesis, the basics, we unlocked the fundamental concept of audio synthesis. We were empowered with a universal synth language, we can use across many synths, regardless of digital audio workstation, hardware or platform. By now, whether you completed that course or are already well-versed in synthesis, you should have a solid idea of how oscillators generate sound, how filters can be used to scope that sound, and how LFO's and envelopes further shape that sound over time. In this course, we'll build further on those ideas so we can gain insight into more advanced synthesis programming. We'll get into some more complex synth tools, as well as some other synth methods we didn't get to previously explore. Of course, the more advanced you get with synthesis, the more specialized the tools become, and your preferences for specific synths will inevitably take shape. Even still, there are certain threads that tie, for example flexible modular synths, like the timeless classic ARP 2600, and newer hybrid synths like Logic's Alchemy. Once you understand how frequency modulation works, parameters and controls of FM based synths like Logic's FM1, or Ableton's Operator will make more synths as a whole. You'll also connect the dots with similarities among modeling synths like Logic's Sculpture and Ableton's Collision. My goal in this course is to familiarize you with the realm of Sonic possibilities available in several of the most popular software synths available. From there, you'll hopefully be empowered to dive deeper, exploring the comprehensive range of possibilities in whichever synths or platforms you deem your personal favorites.
