- Now we're going to take a look at some advanced techniques working with sidechain compression. A lot of people have heard of sidechain compression but aren't sure how to apply it. I'm going to show you how to apply it to your tracks, to use as a mixing, as well as creative sound design tool. So let's take a listen to our session right now. We have a pretty anthemic set of loops here. I'll hit play. (bright electronic music) So right now only two tracks are actually playing. I opened up our kick bank in ultra beat cause we've been programming drums with midi in this entire course. So I wanted to stay with a midi kick 'cause chances are if you've been following along you've been making your own tracks but working with midi. Below this midi kick drum track, and I'll solo that.
