Using MIDI Transform for a human-drummer feel
The MIDI transform function is a classic MIDI technique in Logic to humanize the feel of your beat. It's such a creative set of features in Logic for improving the feel of your music or solving problems in the beat and is as old school Logic as it gets. Okay, let me show you what I've been doing. I've been playing with the hi-hats using transform functions. Let's see how we can get this back to where it was. I'm going to Option+drag, to take those out of double-time, which I did twice. And you know what? I'm going to use one of the transform functions, to fix the velocities. Okay, this is pretty close to what I originally had. So the transform functions, are now inside of the piano roll editor, under Functions > MIDI Transform. This used to be a separate MIDI editor, but now it's very well integrated into the piano roll, and what's great is while you're working, you can see your results very easily inside the piano roll.
