- [Scott] Welcome to Logic Pro X New Features. I'm Scott Hirsch and I will be your author and guide as we explore all the new features available in the most current Logic update, Logic Pro 10.4. As we've seen in the last few point releases, Logic 10.1, .2 and .3 Apple is very serious about not only improving usability and fixing any bugs or strange behavior in the software, but also providing extremely powerful additions with each incremental release.
Did I mention the 10.4 upgrade is a free update? We saw some great feature enhancements, new instruments like Alchemy, and improved workflows in the last few point releases, things like track alternatives, true stereo panning, support for the laptop touch bar, graphics improvements and 64-bit operation. With the 10.4 upgrade we've been gifted a whole bunch of new creative tools for recording, mixing and composing. The new smart tempo and Tempo Editor are huge workflow enhancers.
We'll explore a brand new awesome-sounding reverb called ChromaVerb. There's some cool new drummer fields we'll take a look at as well. Studio instruments for horns and strings have been updated. Finally, we'll look at some great new mix tools, the Vintage EQ set and Phat and Step effects. Because Apple has been so generous with these point releases we structured this course to be updated incrementally with each new significant upgrade. This first chapter will cover the newest and most significant features of the 10.4 upgrade and the second chapter will include the new features and content that I covered for the 10.3 update and so on across all past updates.
In the future, the course will continue to be updated in this fashion as new releases are posted. For now, stay tuned for a detailed look at some of the significant new features and updates to Logic Pro 10.4.
