Layering sounds

- [Voiceover] Another thing you almost always want to experiment with as a sound designer is layering different sounds. Layering sounds with sonically different tembres can yield some really nice results and just make your overall sounds more original. In the next movie we're even going to be playing some examples of some really popular sounds that definitely use layering and a lot of these techniques. So, we have our template open and I'm just going to go ahead and bring this clip down here, and let's take a listen. (digital chime sound) So, we have a nice kind of chime sound here, and I'm just going to go ahead and just un-loop that sound. And then, on this track over here, we've used our drum sounds and we have this kind of "knock" sound. (quiet knock) So there are obviously two very different sounds tembrely, and nice about Ableton Live, is over here, in the Master Channel, if we hit our Scene Select, we can play both of these at once.
