- [Illustrator] While we're on the topic of editing and arranging MIDI, it's a practical place to introduce you to something called MIDI effects. Now, if I click on the lead synth track here, notice in its channel strip on the left here we have a slot for MIDI effects. Now these are kind of like plugin effects except they don't perform any audio processing. They actually just alter MIDI in certain different ways. Now, if I open this up, you see there's a whole bunch of different MIDI effects that are available. I want to take some time to explore just a few of them here, and you can see how useful they are when you're editing and arranging your MIDI performances. So let's first take a look at transposer. And transposer lets you actually alter a performance, you can transpose it, or move its pitch up or down in the form of semitones.
