…After getting these initial vocal ideas down for the verse and chorus.…I figured it was time to just sit down at the piano and…work out the rest of the lyrics and melodies of the song.…Allowing me to make some decisions about the song form.…And by song form I mean the specific order of the sections like verse, chorus,…bridge and so on.…So, I finished my other two verses.…Created an alternate third line in the second chorus,…just to sort of add some variety to the song as it goes along.…And also decided that I basically want to have two verses before ever even…getting to a chorus.…
Now that might break cardinal rule of pop song writing, meaning get to the hook and…the chorus as soon as possible, but that's not necessarily my style.…Nor is it this song really.…The song has longer verses and even the chorus, itself, 16 bars,…four long lyric lines, and a simple, repeatable hook at the end.…So, I thought in this case, it would be a good idea to tease the chorus as…a transition between verse one and verse two.…
