- [Instructor] Before we get rolling, I want to point out a few key concepts if you've just installed Logic. The first one is that when you open Logic for the first time, you'll be asked if you're a beginner or an existing user. If you happen to have chosen beginner, your Logic screen is going to look like this. If I turn off, in the Logic preferences, advanced tools, I get a much more simplified version of Logic. You notice I have the wood bars on either side of the screen. This is because I have not shown advanced tools. And this will give you a pretty dumbed-down version of the app. And since we're here to explore the deeper nuances of the app in this essentials course, you should turn on advanced tools. Whether you want to turn on additional options is up to you, although I will have these on at various points throughout the course.
