Combining envelopes with filters

- [Scott] In the last movie, we used an ADSR envelope to control our overall amplitude or volume of our synth. But we can use envelopes for other purposes. What if we applied some ADSR parameters to our filter for example, then we could control how a steep low-pass filter affects a sound over time, instead of overall volume. Notice next to the amplitude envelope section, we have a filter envelope section. All the same rules apply, except now, you're going to control how your filter interacts as it moves across the sound over time. Let's check this out. I'm want to make sure my filter up here is set to a steep curve, like a low pass, 24-decibel per octave filter. And then I'm going to actually move this back a little bit so that it's really cutting off some good frequencies. And I'll increase the resonance so we can really hear that cutoff point.
