Note: Scott uses a combination of Ableton Live, Native Instruments software, and Logic Pro in these movies, but you can easily re-create the techniques in the DAW of your choice. The specific synths used include Native Instruments Massive; Logic's ES2, EFM1, and Sculpture plugins, and the EVOC 20 PS vocoder synth; and Ableton Live's Collision and Operator.

- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Scott Hirsch, and welcome to Synth Programming: Beyond the Basics. This course aims to move beyond the basic concepts of Synthesis. Here we'll explore how to program some more advanced synths, as well as get into the inner workings of some alternative types of audio synthesis. I'll start by showing you how to route more complex modular synths, employing some familiar techniques in a more sophisticated way. We'll explore some new types of synthesis as well, like frequency modulations, modeling synthesis, and we'll even look at several vo-coding techniques.
Then we'll work through some tutorials, in how to create big moving baselines, novocative percussion patterns, rich synth pads, and more. We'll be covering all these concepts as well as specific techniques for using synths made by Ableton Live, Native Instruments, and Logic Pro. After completing this course, you'll be empowered to move beyond your basic set of sounds, to create your own epic synth sounds. Now let's get started with Synth Program: Beyond the Basics.
