- [Instructor] The virtual file is another file that redirects email. In this case it will redirect email destined for one address to another local address, or multiple local addresses. The syntax is similar to the other files we have talked about, let's take a look. On your rhhost1 VM, in a terminal, type in, less /etc/postfix/virtual, and hit enter. Now, let's go to the table format section, by typing in forward slash, and then TABLE FORMAT in uppercase. We see that it says the pattern matches a mail address, and replaces it by a corresponding result. This isn't very clear, so let me show you what it looks like. If we had a line that said user1 user2 user3, it would redirect mail destined for user1 to user2 and user3. We can also specify full email addresses, such as user1@rhhost1.localnet.com root.
