Where to go from here

- While you can just use the server for development, I hope that you're interested in learning more. There's a lot of exciting directions that you can go in, based on this experience. One of the best ways to learn is to experiment with other Linux distributions. While this coarse focused on Ubuntu specifically, many of the tools and techniques are common to other distributions. Like programming, vocabularies and syntax may be different, but the base principles are the same. A very popular alternative is Fedora from getfedora.org, which uses a very different approach than Ubuntu, including things like package management. I learned an incredible amount about granular Linux configuration and the command line by installing Gentoo, from gentoo.org. Fair warning: there's a very steep learning curve.
