Join Scott Simpson for an in-depth discussion in this video What you should know, part of Browsing the Web Securely.
- [Instructor] This course is intended as a brief look at the security technologies available to protect you as you browse the web. The first chapter covers some easy to use tools, so there's not a lot of technical knowledge needed for those. Though it will help if you're a little bit familiar with networks and how to navigate around on your computer or mobile device. The later chapters do get a bit more technical in order to give you a little bit deeper look behind the scenes, so some knowledge of the Linux command line will come into play there, as well as a little bit more detailed understanding of how networking and the internet work.
There are no exercise files for this course and you can either follow along with parts or sit back and watch as you like. The examples that I'll use are intended to show you how technologies work, not to act as specific recommendations, so do your own research as well.
