Learn to create, control, and configure virtual machines in Linux, and study for the virtualization section of the Linux Foundation Certified System (LFCS) Administrator exam.
- [Scott] Virtualization is an extremely important technology in today's computing world. Virtualization allows us to efficiently take advantage of the resources of computing hardware to create virtual machines that can run applications, services and operating systems. The cloud as we know it couldn't exist without virtualization and using virtual machines also allows us to set up convenient testing and learning environments without having to lug a bunch of computers around and plug them in. I'm Scott Simpson and in this course I'll show you how to work with virtualization on Linux.
I'll go over some terminology you need to know and we'll take a look at how to install and configure virtual machines on a Linux host. I'll show you how to connect to running machines and how to modify the resources of virtual machines as well and then we'll explore migrating machines between hosts and take a look at using namespaces to create virtualized guests. As a system administrator, you need to know how to work with virtual machines, so let's go.
