Troubleshoot Samba

- [Instructor] Once your Samba Server is up and running you should be good to go. But if you come across problems, here's some things to check. First, of course, make sure that the Samba service is running on the server. If SELinux is enabled on your system, make sure it has the right settings to allow Samba to serve files. If you're serving up home shares, you'll need to set samba_enable_home_dirs to on. If you've created another path, you'll need to change it's type context with chcon -t samba_share_t. And be sure to check that the firewall's allowing traffic through. You can see what the firewall's allowing with the firewall-cmd --list-all command. If you're having trouble uploading files, check the permissions of the Samba Server. If you've created a folder with read only permissions, you may not be able to get a listing of the contents.
