Selecting packages based on names in Yum allows you to install the exact package that you desire. Using the --showduplicates option allows you to see all versions of a package. Packages can be selected based on name, version, release, CPU architecture, and even EPOCH number. The EPOCH number is a number used to override the normal update process.
