Searching for a package
- [Instructor] To begin working with packages we need to know what we're looking for. Sometimes we know the package name, or we know something about what we plan to install. So we can use zypper search, and the package name. Or part of the package, or description, to search the repositories for information that matches. But before we do this, it's important to make sure we have an updated copy, of what's available on the repositories. Brand new packages show up occasionally. So it's useful to make sure we have information, about the latest versions that are available. So the software will be requesting the latest version, instead of an older one. I'll update or refresh the repository lists with zypper refresh. Okay, now I'll use zypper search to look look for a package. And I'll look up the term, tree. In here I can see that there's matches in this list, for items who's name, or description match the term. The column here…
