Because ACLs are layered upon standard permissions you can't use standard tools to view them. To view ACLs you will need to use getfacl. You can also view standard Linux permissions with getfacl, which shows standard permissions in a more readable manner than ls -l. You can also use getfacl to view all ACLs in the entire OS. This of course can be redirected to a file.
