- [Instructor] Usually we take network connectivity for granted. When things work, we don't think too much about them, but when things don't work, it's important to know how to find out what's wrong so we can fix it. In this episode, I'll introduce you to some basic network troubleshooting steps and tools that every Linux system administrator should know about. To troubleshoot a network connection, there are a few different levels of things to think about. One level is the physical part of the network, the wires, the switches, the routers, the modems, the little blinky boxes, or big blinky boxes that make networking possible. Another level is the communication that happens through this physical part, and how the packets of information flow between networked computers.
