- [Instructor] We can see where MariaDB stores its log files by checking the slash etc slash my dot cnf configuration file. In a terminal type, grep space log space slash etc slash my dot cnf and hit enter. This shows the log is in slash var, slash log, slash mariadb slash mariadb dot log. Let's list the var log mariadb directory. Type in sudo space ls space slash var slash log slash mariadb and hit enter. Type in your password if prompted. Here we see the mariadb log exists, and is named MariaDB.log, just as it was listed in the config file. Let's view the log. Type in sudu space cat space slash far slash log slash mariadb slash mariadb dot log and hit enter If you've just installed MariaDB and started the service along with this course, then you should see a message saying it created the first database.
