- [Scott] Using a Linux server, we can provide services that are essential to a network. I'm Scott Simpson, and in this course, I'll show you how to perform some network administration tasks that a system administrator should know about. We'll take a look at configuring a Linux server to act as a DHCP server, handing out IP addresses to clients on our network, and we'll look at providing network boot capability for clients using pixie boot. I'll show you how to configure a web proxy in order to save bandwidth and better control your client's internet usage, and we'll set up DNS and have a look at configuring mail.
Many of these tasks are frequently handled by dedicated hardware, but we can also configure a Linux server to offer all of them, let's go.
