Install MATE
- [Instructor] The MATE desktop is a fork of GNOME two. Anyone who used GNOME two in previous versions of CentOS, will feel right at home with MATE. MATE isn't one of the two supported desktops in CentOS seven, so we'll need to add a third party repository to install it. Let's start by preparing a CentOS seven VM clone just for MATE, by clicking on our Install CentOS seven VM, and clicking Clone. I'm using the CentOS seven full DVD VM I created in our course Linux installation and overview. So, right click and click on Clone. We're going to change the name of this, to CentOS seven MATE, we'll also want to check Reinitialize the MAC address on all network cards. Click on Next, we'll choose Linked Clone to save disk space, and then click on Clone again. Once your clone is available, click on it, then boot it up.
